Construction of DestructionA Poem by sivanStanding, Looking into me, Staring Into the essence of my creation; I hold destruction in my hands. Driving, Speeding past, The lights flashing through my vision- Blurred with apprehension. Tension in my wrists, Fists clenched. Breathing, Choking on my thoughts. Coughing up answers to the questions You didn’t ask. And under my breath I hear myself say STOP… But my voice is drowned out By the music In a neighbor’s yard. Eyes piercing through the target Into my own. I see myself propped up by strings And my hands are moving But not at a will of my own, Until- My fingers grip the trigger And they shake To And fro… To And fro… Now all that’s left is letting go. © 2011 sivanAuthor's Note
