Extended VacationA Poem by sivanAs
ordinary becomes the stranger it seems packing our bags is the only option. Perhaps
a vacation is cure indeed! Time
was on our side but for a fleeting moment. You
were never sure of when the end would come But
grew to know it as inescapable.
Fear
took over the mundane routine of things so that you watched your step Instead
of taking the lead. Submission
to the need to keep the peace " Time
became an obstacle Blocking
the clear passage we had become accustomed to. But
custom holds threat to hindrance and the slightest moments’ pause Can
spark the end.
Parting
was never meant to be an option but now it seems to be the last legal move. At
first inconceivable but the ball was set in motion Without
intention. Irreversible
stitching we cannot mend We
took the chance, we’re round the bend. I
can’t say I’ll love you forever But
I promise I will till the end. © 2013 sivan
