Erasing Circles

Erasing Circles

A Poem by EVERYTHINGyoucantelltoSTRANGERS
"

humanity in general, i suppose... life as we know it perhaps... reuploading... again... still...

"

Circles

Racing one another

Around the next turn

We take

The next pile we jump on

The smile we fake

Brought back to where this started

Our fingers crossed

Biting my lip

In anticipation

As a red drop

Plummets

Breaking the silence

We’ve kept

A glass smashes

A smile cracks

The same words

Preferably unsaid

Already falling

Out of our mouths

Cascading

Like things we should try to ignore

The hundred pound gorilla

In the back of the room

That no one wants to talk about

Because there’s nothing that can silence them

Once the truth has the last word

There’s no denying

The fact

Everything’s been said

We’re moving in circles

Being asked to dance

Shifting one over

Hardly holding on

As the movement of things

Catches us off guard again
