Hello peepz! I write novels and short stories in the "urban life" genre going for the "thought provoking" style. You could call it realism, but even romance and crime novels can be realistic, so I just write about the humdrum cycle of life that most of us as normal everyday people go through really, but I try to find the peculiar gems out of the mundane, so I call my genre of stories "urban life".
My stories are more of the "classical" style of stories as I go gof the "thought provoking" style instead of the "high octane" style that is popular nowadays. I'm not saying one style is better than the other, but I just prefer the old style of stories.
Stories nowadays in novels, tv shows and movies aim for 1. Short theme music (if a tv show) 2. Short introduction 3. Amatueur dramatics 4. Shock value 5. Shallow characters 6. Farfetched storyline 7. Designed for children, while my writing goes for the opposite style which I saw on tv in the 90s and was popular before I was born. I go for 1. Long theme music (if a tv show) 2. Long introduction 3. Sophisticated dramatics 4. Thought provoking 5. Complex characters 6. Realistic storyline 7. Designed for adults
I have my own style of deadpan humour which I call slant humour, but I've not really explained what that is.
If you need any advice on writing, message me and I'll help you.
I am currently working on writing my first non-fiction book, An Introduction to Rasa Routing. Next year in 2019 I will start working on my third novel Reckless Monday, a magic book, next year in 2019.
