Tom Erb

Tom Erb’s remarkable 50-year career as an actor started at the tender age of 6. He was cast as the chubby toothpaste commercial boy on The Bozo the Clown Show in 1960. Tom’s acting career has led him to many corners of this country for work on the stage and in film. He has played many roles but his favorites are Pseudos in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Studyvant in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Fang in the film The Root of All Evil and Coach Kohl in Malfunction. Tom had his first taste of directing in high school, directing A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court. That experience inspired him to continue to direct. Tom has taken on the large main stage opera to the minimal productions in management capacities as a Director, Production Director, Production Stage Manager, Technical Director Executive and Artistic Director. Some of his favorite credits include: Noise’s Off, Joseph’s Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, A Few Good Men, La Boheme, La Traviata, Salome, Magic Flute, Romance Romance and 1776.

Tom has over 35 years consulting experience, showing a variety of arts businesses how to isolate their needs and move forward in a positive direction, hence enabling the company to motivate their staff to obtain desired objectives. As an actor, director, producer, arts educator and Real Estate professional, with extensive training and experience in business, Tom brings a unique perspective to organizational change, business development and production management.

In 1992, Tom started his own production firm, Erb Productions; to help arts organizations as well as mainstream corporations establish a structure of leadership and develop business strategies that apply to their organizations. As Erb Productions, his work includes executive coaching and development, organizational and team design, strategic planning, budget management and communication systems.

In 1999 Tom founded the New England Theatre Training Institute in East Hampton, CT and later in 2004 in Newport Rhode Island. NETTI served as a training ground for all who were interested in theatre regardless of age or experience.

Tom recently relocated to Venice, Florida. He has enjoyed a variety of successes and triumphs over the years. These have included being a published writer in national and local publications, composing and producing a syndicated television series entitled Fitness Attitude Training, working with many Hollywood actors and directors who include Stephen Spielberg, Joel Schumacher, Sylvester Stallone, Jim Carey, Burt Reynolds and Cliff Robertson, CO-Founder of the Park Road Playhouse in West Hartford, Connecticut, Acting Teacher and Coach for many talent agencies, theatres and playhouses in Florida, South Carolina, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. Tom majored in theatre arts at Roger Williams University and Florida Atlantic University.
