I joined this site in 2009, when I was writing poetry exclusively. However my range has expanded and blended. My once short poems are now some sort of descriptive paragraph/free verse hybrid. I enjoy writing short stories and the occasional chaptered piece. My strengths lie in description and character depth whereas I tend to struggle with plot and forward movement of events.
On occasion I will also post hings that are merely musings of my mind down in text. I take these moments as opportunities to practice expression, emotion, description and conveying ideas to my audience. For what good is writing if you do not allow your audience the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world your hand has drawn forth from the void?
Interestingly enough, after writing a recent piece, ("Alone with yourself" chapter one. Which in reality is not a chapter but the first part in the series) I entered it into a "who do you write like" type of analyzer....I'm quite pleased with the result, as silly as these things may seem.
