I'm a professor of communication at the Annenberg School, University of Southern California. Most of my writing is academic, but I also write political commentary, essays on literature, arts, music, and contemporary culture, with a special interest in religion in mass media and particularly on the Internet. I am currently working on a book about climate change and the controversy over global warming.
