Caroline Ashe

i have been writing since i was in third grade. when i look back i am astounded at the horrors of those first poems and stories. i have been able to write two things that were almost happy in a time period of six years, which makes me seem like a very pessimistic, depressing person, which i can be very often - because i am. but there are moments when i'm on top of the world, still incoherent, but of things about muffins and penguins rather than suicide and depression. being very self-conscious of my writing, when on occasion a friend compliments one of them i still feel i'm an awful writer. which in fact, i very well might be, but i write anyways because it shows that i am still able to function normally- at least for me.
