About MeMy name is Sapna. I am an introspective dreamer, creative storyteller, bold and unconventional writer and a masterful transition and career coach.
By now you must have figured that I’m versatile and like to wear several hats. I enjoy the color and diversity this brings into my life. As a kid, I was uniquely uncommon. I did things differently and always wanted to know “why” things needed to be done the tried and tested way. I wanted to tread on paths unknown. This was not easy. The path of my yester years was long and winding. Led to several dead ends. Interesting isn’t it? But easy is boring and life without challenge is pale and pointless. And so, I marched along boldly and unapologetically. Along the way, I met interesting people and there are some stories on human yearning that evoked powerful emotions in me at the time. At the tender age of ten, I started journaling and writing poems. As I grew older, I was fearless and enjoyed narrating unforgettable incidences. My teen experiences opened my senses and mind to new adventures. The exaggerated stories I wove captivated my uninformed yet friendly audience. They were mostly on tenterhooks and thoroughly entertained. I certainly was! Even now I keep family and clients, gripped with my convincing narratives. I’m positive and believe that nothing is impossible. I empower people around me to think out of the box and make their dreams come true. My life's motto is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people who I touch. I have always lived life on my own terms. I’m supported by a traveling husband who is ahh! not so present. But please know I’m not complaining. Through his travels he shares new experiences with us and makes us fall in love with countries that we have not seen, people who we have not met and cultures we haven't explored. And that, you will all agree is enough to imagine plots, create settings and themes to start writing short stories and flash fiction. My three kids are the center of my world but constantly decenter me. My dramatic monologues make us all experience feelings that are raw on the one hand and emotions that are deliberate on the other. My kids get a first-hand experience of the characters I weave, the situation I create and the experiences I provide. I will most likely leave a legacy with them if not with any of my other audience. My mom is my good luck charm and the reason of my existence and being. She is the only one who knows how to shut me up. Well at least some one does! She is my toughest critic and yet my biggest fan. My married life has been a roller coaster of sorts. We have relocated several countries including Bangladesh, Singapore and now the US. Needless-to-say, I’ve had to reinvent myself personally and professionally. Transition has been my best friend and has given me an opportunity to step out of my comfort zone, enrich my experiences, broaden my horizons and simply go berserk sharing the wicked yet witty, original yet imaginative, chaotic yet truly humane experiences of women who I have met along the way. My professional journey has also had several twists and turns because of our many relocation's. I have enjoyed every bit of being nomadic and becoming slightly more insane than the last year. My profession as a coach provides me an opportunity to closely interact with woman from all facets of life. They share their deepest darkest fears, their weirdest, wildest dreams and dark yet enchanting fantasies. And while they are pouring their hearts out, all I can think of is a story in the making. And yes, you guessed right - that lead me to create a blog in May of 2019. I wrote about things that interested me or were extremely important to me. I enjoyed the friend following and comments, but this was not enough and so in August of 2020 I did some soul searching, by diving deep within. I discovered that part of my purpose in life is wanting to tell tales using a variety of genres including essays, poetry, drama, nonfiction - short stories, flash fiction… that has the power to captivate millions of people around the world. So, in the year ahead come experience how my stories turn dreams into reality, expose fears and shortcomings and let you momentarily live the character for a short while. I hope that my style will help you remain curious of what will happen next; yet knowing that I provide you a safe haven to make my reading all worthwhile. My calling is to write powerful women centered stories. Those who fought all odds but emerged as winners in my eyes. These are women of steel whose undying spirit will engage, motivate and inspire each-and- every one of you, through their life paths. And hopefully with these learning's, we will try and make the world a better and safer place to live in. |
