About Me
I grew up as a military kid (father was RCAF) in the provinces of Ontario and Manitoba, Canada throughout the ‘50s and ‘60s. My mother was a published poetess who encouraged reading and writing. In my early teens, I began writing stories for my younger sisters, some of which were made into a small compilation by a family friend.
Marriage to Ernie Pigden came just after the start of the ‘70s and two years later we had one daughter. I concentrated on writing short stories and poetry for many years, selling occasionally to anthologies and magazines. In 1998, I began sharing my thoughts in newspaper column format on the internet (long before blogs) and thus Runa’s Ramblings was born. Over the years, several novels have been started and a few completed. This past year I published "The True Story of Santa Claus", a book aimed at beginning doubters, and "Runa's Ramblings Minus Thirteen: A Compilation of Self-published Musings".
