About Me

My name is Roxanne. Is this how one starts these things? For those of you who don’t know me I am a twenty seven, soon to be twenty… sob… eight year old who is trying to make my way through this thing called life. Wow that wasn’t a clichéd statement at all. Right, off to a good start. I’m currently a writer for a fairly popular women’s magazine of which I shall not be naming. I feel I should also emphasize that any views conveyed in this blog are completely my own and have nothing to do with who I work for. Apparently it’s fairly imperative that I mention that before I go on any further. I live in a flat in Bryanston, which is not Fourways for those who ‘hate’ our area. The Bryanston/Fourways area has become the dark shadowy part in the Lion King that Mufasa advices Simba not to go near. Crisis, they are two different areas, rein it in, people.

Just over a year ago I decided to pack my bags and move (run) overseas where I spent a year in Hong Kong. Having always had a fascination with Asia, it seemed like the best choice when making the decision as to where to go. This blog isn’t about that however. I decided I have too many thoughts rummaging around my brain and so the most logical (and sane) thing to do was to start a blog. I want a space where I can talk freely, openly, documenting the sometimes disturbingly bizarre things that appear in my head. I guess I’ve therefore started this for myself, more than for anyone else to read. Trust me to use a public platform for my own benefits. Typical. You’ll learn that about me.

I have a tendency to not finish the things that I start. So let’s see how far this one goes? I’m freakishly obsessed with my niece and nephew who also happen to be my God children, so expect to hear and see a lot of posts on the two of them. I fall in love, a lot, but not really. I’ve had one serious long-term boyfriend, the two of us broke up before I left for Honkers (yes, if you’ve lived there, you get to give it a nickname). The pre and post break up of which will surely make for a very entertaining post, let’s ease into things first me thinks.

Watch this space.
