About Me
i'm not your average ordinary trailer trash, but tornados make me nervous. a hail-laden april storm spinning off twisters can send me to the bedroom closet donning a motorcycle helmet . . . just in case a tree comes down on the trailer again. last year i got lucky and didn't get killed. you can say that i don't take much for granted. my life can be snuffed out without proper ceremony by one of nature's furies, and i haven't ever forgotten that. call it a little philosophy that cultivated while i was convalescing after a near-fatal car crash that almost delivered me to my maker in heaven when i was a whole 8 years old.
but to take it to the serious side, i like to read non-fiction. you can say i'm on a hunt for certain books, ones that were written 50-100 years ago or even more. i like books that expand my thinking and world view. i like books from which i can learn and understand this anglo-american hegemonic world. that's not to say i am not interested in those ideologies which fall out of that sphere of influence. what makes this system tick? that's what i want to know. and it is true that really bad storms will send me to the closet, however funny that may seem.
