About MeI am a lifelong writer -- from my early teens. I would like to say I am a famous writer, but my first book was published in 2007.
At the age of 18 I turned to journalism. It was a sure way of getting published. I began life as a country boy. But as the saying goes, you never know your luck in a big city -- and that is where I am. Melbourne. One morning there I got off at a likely tram stop and ended up press secretary, later communications and online strategist and chief speechwriter to the Premier of Victoria, Jeff Kennett, leader of the conservative Liberal Party. When Jeff unwittingly surrendered the presidency in a coup in 1999 to the Labor Party, I went back to the same tram stop and life as a communication consultant and speechwriter ... A Free Agent. Free enough to write gigabytes of books, feature articles, treatises, pontifications, emails and text messages and file my own rejection slips. My interests span history, politics & public policy, technology, how the universe works, what makes the world tick, brilliant people and their ideas, strange things overheard in public places, the track, a mix of music, movies that have good scripts, playing hide and sneak with my Burmese cat, Su Kyi. Now I am working on a mission that I refer to as the Power of Q ... Q! is the cue to write, and the essence of many other mysterious things, hence my pending web site URL, q2write. I see this as an outlet for my writing and a link to like-minded people, which of course is why I am here, but also a means to guide and help up and coming people. Comments
