About Me

First of all, I try to understand life and all aspects of living with an open mind and heart. Whatever category there is, I want to have a better insight of it.
I am 17 years old and have been reading avidly since the age of 3. I started illustrating and writing my own books when I was 5, stapling the papers together. My first published poem was when I was 9, and it was a top ten finalist. I have a twin sister and 5 cats. I am an animal and children's rights advocate and supporter, and I have been a vegetarian since the January of this year. I was a vegan for a year, but got unhealthy so I stopped. My hobbies include acting, dance(trained for 9 years), piano, reading, analyzing and viewing films, and singing. My favorite poets are Anne Sexton, Walt Whitman, Sylvia Plath, and my sister. "The Virgin Suicides" is my favorite book, and highly recommended. I am very fascinated by psychology, since I have been in therapy and medicated for 4 years and was diagnosed with clinical depression at age 13. I do not define that as who I am, but a part of my life that I have learned to cope with. I adore art, and Henry Darger, Vincent Van Gogh, John Waterhouse, and Sally Mann are a few of the many who inspire me. Films are a huge fascination of mine, I adore Kubrick's genius and any River Phoenix film. I listen to a wide variety of music, I love Frank Sinatra, classical (especially Tchaikovsky), Garbage, Portishead, and Tori Amos. I am very excited about joining this wonderful site and meeting new people.

Hey Eileen, I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to stop by and read Arrows at the Sun. I really appreciate such kind words of encouragement, especially from someone as talented as yourself. Take care... and again, thank you.
