About MeI am one of the thousands of Australians currently infecting the city of London. I'm a stubborn infection, though, maybe more a virus than an infection, having lived here for over seven years. My two kids were born here, which makes it a lot harder to for the Home Office to get rid of me. My dog was also born here, but he doesn't pull much weight with the authorities.
I've finished two novels, with a third almost finished. The middle one, Natural Selection, was the one I submitted to ABNA (because it was finished, and doesn't make me cringe the way the first one does). I've had a couple of short stories published by magazines that are either obscure to the point of being unread or no longer in print - I've decided that there's just no market for shorts these days, not for me anyway, so I've tried to focus just on novels. That thing that keeps dragging me away from writing (aka my job) is based in the city, working on super-exciting things like, how can we work out how much money the company manages with the least possible expenditure or effort? I love my job. Really. I lurked for most of the time on the ABNA boards, but started posting more frequently towards the end of my stay there (mostly because work's been quiet). I've uploaded my excerpt, Natural Selection - I'd appreciate any feedback, now that PW is no longer going to be giving me any, and I promise to review as much as I can in return. |
