I'm a middle-age housewife who has small bi-weekly column about family humor in my Florida hometown newspaper. I was fortunate enough to win the spot in a public contest 6 years ago. The economy took my family to Virginia where I toil away on a book idea while watching deer eat seed from my bird feeders in the backyard. I'm not sure why we are here but we have faith all happens for a reason and when one door closes, another opens. I'm hoping my book idea is an open door. In the meantime, I tell my husband I love him everyday, hug my boys and feed the cat, lest she maul me in my sleep.
