Thanks Oreste for the read, much appreciated. Well... even though I chose not to sympathize with the captain, I consider him to be less of a villian and more of a symbol of uncertainty and a metaphor for the "why?" of the whole thing, and how we sometimes don't get an answer. Or one we understand or like. But in truth the character and his breakdown/blow up was based off of an incident my grandfather lay witness to in Vietnam. So I thought I'd try it out here in some sense.
Yeah, the it's/its thing is always something that gets me when I'm furiously at the board and sometimes I'm not sharp eyed enough to get em' all upon editing.
Gorillas however was not a mistake. I did not mean to write "guerillas" in the mercenary sense, but to evoke an energy/image of gorillas in the two men.
But like ya said, minor issues. Right? ;)
