About Me
From adolescence until I was 24, I was an agnostic.
Then I almost drowned, and had what has come to be called a near death experience. So for the past 45 years I've known that the problem with life is not that it has no meaning, a la atheism/existentialism, but that it has so much meaning even the best of us can only grasp a bit of it: For we are endless, immortal sentient
beings traveling this world in fragile, mortal shells.
A minor mystery for me is why a few years ago in my mid-sixties I began writing poetry again after a 30 year hiatus. The truth is though, the poems are writing me, that is, they come to me, unbidden, sudden-- and if I don't capture them by writing them down quickly, they'll go away and won't come back. Tricky little b******s!
