American, born in Chile, israelite and with peruvian blood and heart ; Sari was born in Arica, a small village on the border between Chile and Peru, located in the Atacama Desert, on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, far from the capital, Santiago, at that time you could only travel by boat or aircraft of the army, in the 40 's or 50 's. Arica is called the City of Eternal Spring, it never rains. Here she learned her first letters in the Elementary School of Arica. Her aunt Amanda Muñoz Norero was her first teacher, introducing her to a library of literature and poetry at a very early age. Walking to school, she was fascinated by the market and would go and mingled with the indigenous women who arrived in the Arica -La Paz railway , because there was free port in Arica and they came with their goods hidden under bright and colorful skirts and huge hats, they came from Bolivia and Peru, from remote locations in the Andes . The smell, the colors and energy of these women followed her all her life; her roots, made her feel very close to them. Her great-grandparents were Peruvians as were her maternal grandmother and sister, ( her first teacher), all had a great influence in the early years of her life. Her father worked at the Post Office and Telegraph of Chile, being a specialist in morse code, which led the family across the country, Arica, Ancud, Chiloe from North to South of Chile; the Andes; San Felipe, Rio Blanco, suspension bridges, majestic rivers , the austerity of the mountains and its people, the nature; strongly impressed her, arousing this love, this need for poetry, art, beauty, herbs, shamanism and spiritual seeking. In the seventies she immigrated to Israel, joining her father and brother, after a gap of 10 years, lived in Kibbutz Kissufim and was an active member of this, here she learned to speak Hebrew in an “Ulpan “ (a school in Israel designed to teach Hebrew to immigrants ). Here she discovered a set of a new life, much personal freedom and also felt part of the youth migrating from many parts of the world to Israel. Working with children from the Kibbutz, the war found her, the six days war or Yom Kippur war; being a pacifist, this forced her to leave the country. Travels to Europe, where she studies english and works in London as a student, traveling in Europe and in 1974 emigrated to the United States, Northern California, where in its beautiful mountains resides with her partner , sculptor Daniel Graham and their children and grandchildren. In times of tragedy and grief , her salvation is the poetry and has turned her entire emotional life therein.
