And I would’ve married you

Bruising sea

Like ripping labels off of recycled soldier uniforms

Sponge off his sinsIn a tub of faithless water Because being a wifeIs just like being a daughter

This poem is getting quite lengthy I realize

A grandmother promise, you’ve come to see you are the intruder

It eats like its preparing for winter

He told me his name but I couldn't hear it over the noise

I am that forest tree

I am good at putting my feelings into the words people want to hear
