Derek Cummings

I've had a passion for writing for years, both fiction, nonfiction and poetry. Writing novels allows me to unravel my imagination and put my creativity to use. I enjoyed my writing instructor in college so much that I succeeded in those classes and became a writing tutor, where I helped edit student's stories and essays. At this point of my life, I aim to succeed further as a novelist. I like writing, because despite any financial or life hardships, I'll always be able to put a pen to paper or use a lap-top and write a story. Like other writers, I use writing as an escape route, a place I can go and be what and where my imagination allows me to. When reality makes a writer miserable, she or he can resort to that world, become that character and communicate with those characters.
