About Me
I was born in The Bronx, NY in the year of our Lord 1969. A tumultuous childhood was followed by an experimental, somewhat self-destructive adolescence. This was followed by a rather hedonistic, and even more self-destructive young adult life. After rediscovering my faith, I continued to search for rock-bottom, and found it. I managed, by the grace of God, to pull it out at age 33, sparing myself and my family and friends an untimely, accidental death. I have been writing on and off for 20 years, but decided to focus on it more seriously after I quit drinking on October 17, 2003. My main influences have been Edgar Allen Poe, Jim Morrison, Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou, Robert Frost and Billy Collins (among others).
