Jamie Trower

I am a 17 year old male and live in New Zealand.

I found writing a huge refuge after suffering a brain injury in 2003. I fractured my skull in two places, had bleeding in the brain and I was in a coma for 6 months. I then spent 2 years in rehabilitation gaining my strength. The doctors suggested - even though I haven't suffered depression as a cause of my injury - that I should capture all my emotions I was feeling and write about them. I began with individual short stories of hope and individuality. I then tackled much bigger projects, like murder mystery's and horrors. After I was discharged from rehab, I have carried on my 'writing' tradition.

I am also an extensive reader. I have read Robert Louis Stevenson, Harper Lee, Thomas Harvey, Stephen King, Charles Dickens and William Peter Blatty - to name but a few. My favorate book is definately William Peter Blatty's The Exorcist.

I am also a huge Shakespeare fan. As a result of my accident, acting was offered to me by the rehab centre. I tried the course they offered and they were blown away with my acting versitility. I have carried on my passion for acting and take Drama at school. I have always loved Shakespeare - both the acting and the language. I have acted in Richard III and Romeo and Juliet.
