One night while I was asleep I had the words, "Veni, Vidi, Vici" repeating in my head. All night this happened. I want to somehow use this creatively. I feel like it was a sign to use it for some sort of creative good. I just don't know how to use it yet. It's killing me. I feel like there's some amazing story waiting behind this line for me. I really hope that one day I'll be able to write that story.
I heard somewhere that Oscar Wilde purposely used simple words in his writing. He didn't feel the bigger and more complex words were necessary. I'm the same way. My goal in my writing is to use simple words to write complex poetry. I'd like to think that I'm getting better at it one poem at a time.

I know, most of the so called "best writers" on here really aren't that great. Yira Simone though is so f*****g amazing, honestly, she is better than most of the published writers. BTW, go check out Belle and Sebastian, they remind me of The Decemberists.
I agree, when I read something that is inspiring and mind blowing, it totally motivates me to write in that style or to kick myself sharply in the a*s. LOL I think that is why it is good to have groups because you can bounce ideas off each other. I will read your newer work to see if I can tell exactly how you have changed since 6 years ago. I have read amy work before, and she is good also. I love you idead so a small writing group made of North Calli writers...SWEET!!!
She is cool. I like her and her work. I think she left the Cafe though. There is Erotic Goddess in Reno...that is not too far from here. And We have some in the Pacific Northwest. And one person in San Jose...he might be willing to join in from time to time.
I have spoke in public before, but I always freeze with a new crowd. LOL I have been practicing with the Cafe radio shows, and that has helped. Okay...we got a job to do. Let's keep our eyes out for anybody else from North CA.
If you take that class, the group could pracitce your homework assignments. I am already practicing what I learn now with my writing.
BTW Thanks for the review. I am glad you like that run on sentence line. After reading yor poem yesterday, you came up with a ton of stuff that I wonder how did I miss that? LOL
I am only taking one class for now and that is within my budget. Yeah, consider of spring. I might see you on campus.
Well, there is another woman on here who lives in Chico also. There is Dave and...I don't know. LOL Just you so far. First I just want to get all together and meet and see how we all click, and then go from there. I know of one writer in Reno that might want to join in. Let me scout around and we will see.
Sorry, I was reviewing this long story. We moved here because my bf was accepted into grad school at Chico State. I am geting back into my writing as well. I have been trying to improve over the last 2 or 3 years. I am think ing about getting a small group of North Ca. Cafe writers together so we can hold works shops and read at nearby coffee houses. If you are interested let me know. Nothing has come of it yet, but I am just know sending out invites and you are the first. LOL I mentioned awhile back to somebody else, but things came up for me. School is certainly the way to go. You should sign up!!! I am from Louisiana!!! Small world. LOL
