About Me
Milan Mitchell is a first generation Cuban American of African decent. She is a Communication scholar and writer who holds a B.A., cum laude and M.A. maga cum laude from Northeastern Illinois University. She has also completed two years towards a doctoral degree in education at a National-Louis University.
Milan is also the author of The Pro Se: A disabled woman's journey towards social justice activism, Vol. One (Mitchell 2006). People who represent themselves without a lawyer in the legal system are called, Pro Se. This book is about a woman who survives attempted suicide, police brutality, pro se litigation across five (5) jurisdictions, three marriages/divorcecs yet always believed that she didn't matter and constantly had to defend herself throughout most of her life. This thought provoking mystery is filled with action, sexual rawness and humor. You definitely won't be bored.
