Never have I been so discouraged as when I joined this website. Depression and self-mutilation are glorified to an level of abhorrence and if any subject matter varies from this it doesn't seem to attract any readers. That is not to say I think myself a literary virtuoso but searching earnestly for feed back or constructive criticism has tried difficult. No one here wants to take criticism outside of genial ego-stroking and as a result I have been deterred to a point of closing this account. One does not have to write only of anguish and dances with death and despair. That is an extremely narrow aperture and any other pieces with different subject matter don't ever seem acknowledged by the masses, myself included. This is closer to "dear diary" pissing contest than an actual forum of open thought and expression.
