About Me
Michele Mattia is a professional observer, philosopher, traveler, daydreamer, and creator. Manhattan has been both her home and muse for the last 11 years, and it is the setting for most of her works.
Micheles passion for writing began at age six when instead of bringing a toy to Show n Tell, she decided to bring a story complete with illustration. Although the talent for illustration never manifested into much more than stick figures and bloated animals, her writing became a solace, an escape and a journal for her dreams.
Since writing was about a personal passion, she never thought about sharing her work with people outside of her immediate friends and family until about five years ago. Micheles genres include: childrens fiction, contemporary literature, and experimental works expressed via novella, novel and/or short story, as well as essays.
The goal of her writing is to bring healing, acknowledgment, transformation, humor, imagination and magic to little people who still need to have stories read to them, young people who believe in believing, and grown-up children whove realized one never truly grows up.
