About MeWhen I was younger I used to write. I knew I had written the definitive character assessment of Arthur Dimsdale (Scarlet Letter) but my English teacher flunked me. Emotions can not be personafied...I was only 16 and hastened to the science department where I was praised and loved....I obviously lack thick skin.
My love is the written word especially the lyrical rythms of southern writers like Eudora Welty and Ernest Hemmingway. I think Tom Forbes of Washington, NC is one of the most gifted and beautiful writers I have ever read..honeysuckle on a river breeze, totally vulnerable, unapologetically exposed, immersing the reader in the experience. And I felt that way about his letters to the editor!! I am far too afraid to write anymore. I'm not 16 anymore and realize I totally lack talent to twist a story together and fear the raw emotions of poetry. Maybe one day. For right now it is a privaledge to view and enjoy your work. A secret yet supportive voyeur. |
