About Me
"I met a lady in the meads,
Full beautifula faerys child,
Her hair was long, her foot was light,
And her eyes were wild."
I am convoluted and diluted. I am an origami-paper girl fluttering in the wind. My eyes are opaque and my voice is thin. I twirl in circles until the world begins to spin. There is no end and nowhere to begin. I measure time by coffee spoons. "I have heard the mermaids singing each to each. I do not think they'll sing to me. . ."
Coiled Alizarine
"Curiously deep, the slumber of crimson thoughts:
While breathless, in stodgy viridian
Colorless green ideas sleep furiously."
~John Hollander
Warning: I do not expect flattery because it is what other's deem the best currency for likewise flattery of his/her work. I do expect honesty and that is my currency. If I have wounded anyone through one of my reviews then I apologize in advance but I will never regret my words. They were written with the intention to improve and not to aggrandize an ego that is lacking. If you do not like my critique then ignore it or insult me if that is the therapy you need; either way, I won't lose a nights sleep agonizing over it. I applaud those who write to evolve, understanding that their work must likewise change to improve. If you excuse all criticism as strict ignorance of the artist's freedom and vision then quite frankly you're worthy of nothing but empty flattery. Even free verse has a form. Rhyme is not archaic. Varying styles are employed for whatever can convey meaning best. Structure should never take precedence over content. A good knowledge of poetry and writing means reading published poetry and writing. Dilettantes can only ever be dabblers. Everyone understands the difference between good work and bad work but not everyone understand the difference between one's good work and bad work. Without comprehension, words are words are words. And that's my two cents, thank you.
