I spent much of my childhood in my father's used book store and I've been writing fiction since I was strong enough to press down the keys on his old manual typewriter. In addition to serving as a combat medic in the National Guard, I've held a wide variety of jobs ranging from network engineer to police officer to karate instructor.

I live near San Luis Obispo, California with my wife, Lynne. I have two sons, Ashland and Cameron, and another on the way. Ashland and Cameron are pretty darn good writers themselves.
