About Me

I've just started writing poetry again. I used to write a lot into my early 20's, and again about 9-10 years ago. Mostly poetry. I like Bukowski, Dickinson, Henry Rollins, Jim Thompson, Bruno Schulz, Roald Dahl, outsider stuff. I like taking photos. Don't care much for sacharine schmaltz in any medium. Here is some other people's wisdom I like.

Make visible what, without you, might perhaps never have been seen.
- Robert Bresson

I cannot call to mind a single instance where I have ever been irreverent, except toward the things which were sacred to other people.
- Mark Twain (1835 - 1910), "Is Shakespeare Dead?"

Do not wait for extraordinary circumstances to do good; try to use ordinary situations.
- Jean Paul Richter (1763 - 1825)

A facility for quotation covers the absence of original thought.
- Dorothy L. Sayers (1893 - 1957), Lord Peter Wimsey in "Gaudy Night"

Ahh, my gloriously faulty memory contributes to my belief that time is not linear. My humblest of apologies with a deep sweeping bow of his battered felt hat.

Thanks for reading and reviweing I Walk Alone, as you said no it doesn't mean that..just in a sense of a need to be alone. Violet and purple, all the hues of purple are my favorite colors. I like the name Viloet.
Thanks again!

Thanks for your review of "Ordinary, Everyday". I appreciate the thought you put into it! :-)

By "It is what it is (perfectly)", I basically meant that it's better to come to terms with the way things are, than to wish for a better reality (since wishing doesn't make it so). Also, that sometimes things are better than they seem, and your own irritation is just a sign of dis-ease in yourself. So, that's what I meant. . . but I have to look and decide if that's what I'm saying, or if I'm just tossing off an over-used phrase. Worth thinking about.

So, again, thanks for the food for thought! (Another over-used phrase, but true ;-)).
