My name is Lindsey, and at 23 years old, I'm setting out to discover myself and this world that we live in through blogging and writing short stories and poems. I fell in love with writing when I started keeping a personal journal during my Freshman year in college. It was then that I discovered that I have a story to tell. There is something unique and inspiring about everyone's journey, and I want to share mine with others in hopes that it might inspire or, at the very least, help them to feel that there is someone out there who understands, who gets it, whatever that might be. I now keep a blog and, currently, three different journals for different purposes. I never actually set out to write short stories and poems until recently, feeling that I was never smart enough or unique enough or important enough or good enough at writing etc, etc. I'm past that now. I know that I am a newbie to the writing world and that I have much to learn about myself, my voice, the writing world, and the world itself. I joined writer's cafe in hopes of finding a community of fellow writers that will help me to not feel so discouraged about this journey that I'm on as well as ones that will give me feedback on how I can best improve my writing and will give me inspiration for other poems and short stories.
