For the past year and a half I have been planning to self publish a book of poetry. I have been working on expanding it a bit with some photographs and journal entries. Well, I got a phone call today from a publisher who saw my work on my Writers Cafe webpage...a real publisher. They asked me to meet with them, on of all days, my birthday! I am so psyched! I can't believe it. I may actually have my very own book deal! Keep your fingers crossed.

Well my freaky darlings this is it. I finally made the decision to publish my first book of poetry and I am scared. I have decided to self-publish with a fabulous well known company and the planning stage is under way. Of course, I have a few funds to raise but it is minimal compared to all the quality service I am going to be getting. My book will be available on amazon.com and barnes and noble.com. I am so freaking excited right now I can hardly sit still.
I need your help guys. I have written a lot of poetry and I need you guys to tell me your favorites. Go to my website:
http://www.writerscafe.org/profile/kpendragon77/
click on the poetry tab and take a look. Tell me your ultimate 3 favorites. If you drop me a line, I may even give you a shout out in my introduction. *wink* So let me know your top three my friends!
Thanks a lot guys and gals!***
So, I have to tell you a little bit about me huh? Well, my name is Liv. I am 30 years old and I have been writing poetry since I was about 12 years old. As a child, I traveled Europe with my family. We went to such places as Germany, England, France, Italy, Greece, and Holland. I learned a great deal from the old world. I learned to have a great appreciation for different beliefs and cultures. Even at a young age I learned to have a zero tolerance for prejudice. The world was so different and it was being different that made the world a wonderful place. There was always something new to learn about.
As I got older, I became a bit of an outcast for being such a free thinker. I questioned everything that I did not understand. Some would call me a rebel for that. My parents called it a healthy curiosity and becoming a free spirit. Needless to say I let that free thinking lead me to a place I should not have gone. I turned to drugs and alcohol to try and find myself. Eventually, I wised up and found myself growing even further without it. it was then that my poetry and writing exploded. IT was my therapy. It was my comfort and my joy.
If you are on my friends list I will do my best to read your material. I would prefer it though if you would send me any particular pieces that you would like me to comment on. It makes it a little easier for me since I do have to work. I am not trying to be snooty by saying that. I just want to be able to help as much as I can and that will help me in helping you. Also, I am a very easy going person and a very good listener. I am not just here to review your work. I am here to also talk if you need it. We are birds of a feather and we must stick together. God that sounds so cliche.
**If you find some of your comments have been deleted, do not freak out. I am simply trying to clean up my page a bit. I will leave them up for a while and then remove them. It's nothing personal, just trying to be a bit more organized. ***
Much love everyone and I look forward to hearing from you. ~Liv
