An avid fantasy/sci-fi writer, I get most of my inspiration from hiking the Pisgah National Forest in the mountains of North Carolina. I am currently working on the third book in my FaeryTales series...a bit of a hard sell as most people see fairies as strictly a children's subject. Life is busy when you have work full time, take care of the family and still find time to write - but I do - and guard that time jealously. Through the local school system I host the WNC BookFest at the Historic Johnson Farm and am also on their advisory board. I have illustrated two children's books written by other authors and also illustrate my own books. My best friend is also a writer, though sadly, I almost never see him. I am trying to organize a writers group of my own, seeking solace and commiseration in the fine and sometimes challenging art of writing.
