I was with WritersCafe before, and found the site again. I have completely rewritten the information about myself. So much has happened in the last few years. Firstly and most importantly of all I came out as a gay man in November 2011, and thereby put an end to the depression I had suffered as well as the two nervous breakdowns. From that time onwards I was free to be the person I was always meant to be. There is nothing more satisfying than knowing that you can stop living a lie and trying to please other people at the expense of your own well-being. For 15 months I lived in the Philippines and for most of that time I was with my partner, Kim, whom I met in July 2014. I have never been happier in my life. Our relationship I can only describe as comfortable. We are on the same wavelength mentally, spiritually and emotionally. He is a mature and responsible individual with a strong Catholic faith who has enabled me to begin to appreciate the unconditional love of God. He also suggested I write the story of my life, which is exactly what I have done. Since then, I have been writing short stories and poems. I returned to the UK in November in order to complete my divorce and the sale of my house. Once that is all done, my partner can apply for his fiance visa for the UK. We aim to get married and settle down somewhere . Whether that is in the UK remains to be seen. At some point in time I shall decide if my writings are good enough for publication. If I do decide that they are, I shall probably go down the route of self-publishing. I look forward to the future with anticipation.
