I’ve given 10 constructive reviews and received 1 in return. Both very small numbers I know, but enough to cause me concern that it shows a trend that may continue. I am more than happy to give more than I take within the writing community, but the hours I’ve spent reading, contemplating and reviewing do tend to feel wasted, when like most on this site, I would prefer to just keep writing for myself. I understand that I should give these reviews and expect nothing in return, but I am desperately trying to improve. If people don’t tell me where I am failing, how can I achieve this? Giving a constructive review can be difficult because I am putting myself out there without being able to guess how people will react. Thankfully so far it has been positive. With such limited time that I have, and with so little benefit gained, I am sorry to say I will shortly be ending this account. I can only hope that the community learns from this and more effort is made to give by those who are so willing to take. Please don't mistake this as bad behaviour or poor manners. I am simply making an observation and leaving the site for the sake of efficiency. I only wish you all the best.
