Vanessa Whiteley

Born in 1560 in Stratford-upon-Avon. I have a passion for writing but my parents wanted me to marry early. I ran away from home to see if I could make my fortune in London as my older brother had done before me. Unfortunately I had no success and was seduced by an actor-manager. I committed suicide and my body 'lies buried at some cross-roads where the omnibuses now stop outside the Elephant and Castle'.

Since then I have been reborn a long, long, long time ago but as a mature student it was possible for me to gain an MA in Literature. How times change! I go to a number of poetry groups in Bristol and a poetry school in Bath. I haven't been published yet. This may be because I've never submitted anything.

What do I want from this site. I want honesty. If you see a problem with any of my poems, a way of improving them, feel free to say so. In return I'll do the same for you.
