Once upon a time there was this girl who loved to daydream. She dreamed of the most grandiose things, elements, and those whimsical things they call flights of fancy. I have never felt more in tuned with myself than I have on this site. Having been a member since 2007, it certainly does feel like home.
In my life I have in some ways failed and in others succeeded but that seems to happen to us all at one point or another. We see faces that were once unfamiliar become rich and colorful within our eyes. These are the individuals who's tone and demeanor ring like bells throughout the soul, awakening what was once sleeping within us. Then there are those who are dark familiar faces with an underlying intent to devour and conquer...or just beat you into submission from time to time.
Despite all that however, there is the path that everyone must follow. I don't think people truly realize the individuality of each path. You can't truly walk in someone's footsteps, rather, you create footprints next to those to whom you admire and walk your own path. While you make your journey, you often times find yourself admiring the path next to you. If you're not too careful and you become too aloof and careless, or you find yourself greedy for their success; you may find yourself falling into a ravine or running into a low tree branch. These lovely obstacles that knock us on our collective asses are our wake up call. We must follow our own path and appreciate those who have bestowed knowledge upon us; be kind and honorable to all. Most of all, we must understand and embrace the qualities that make us unique; the qualities that become the driving force within our lives.
It is both an honor and a privilege to be able to read and review some of the best written works on this site. I invite you to take a look at my pages, share your thoughts as well as your writing, and perhaps give me the opportunity to polish up your work. That would be my greatest honor, helping YOU shine!
My first collection of poetry I wrote with a fellow WC member, Aramey, is currently available on amazon.
