About Me
I've written an unusual experimental novel called The Everly's. It is a first person narrative told in an invented slang. It combines prose, poetry, journalistic writing and even songwriting as the narrator and his brother, yes, The Everly's, are a singer songwriter duo. I graduated with an English degree from the University of Minnesota and was actually thrown out of a creative writing class there for an early short story draft of The Everly's. The reason-you have to make sense. It makes sense, it is just difficult at times to decipher the sense from the tidal wave of words. Influences include Anthony Burgess (A Clockwork Orange is a personal favorite.) William S. Burroughs, even James Joyce and William Shakespeare. Modern writers I like Mark Z. Danielewksi (Check out House of Leaves) Tristan Egolf (Lord of the Barnyard). David Treuer (Little) not an experimenal writer, but very good. I also like Ron Hansen (The Assasination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford).
