About Me
Jewel Chanda, a trial court Judge, joined West Bengal Judicial Service in the year 2012. Apart from this he is just another member of 7.3 billion (estimated) human club. His first poetry collection, Naranarayan Bhojer Khichuri was published in 1998, which received praises from many. In addition to poetry, Jewel has many published works of fiction, including short stories both in English and Bengali.
Born in West Bengal in 1979, Jewel was raised by his liberal parents who stood behind him in every ups and downs of life. His career was far more colourful than stable. Before enrolling as an Advocate in 2009, he burnt his hand trying as many as 8 professions successfully.
He graduated from the University of Calcutta in the year 2006, as an external student. He studied law in Balasore Law College (2009-2011). He topped both in LL.B & LL.M and was awarded gold medal by Fakir Mohan University, Odisha. He has also earned Master of Business Laws (M.B.L.) degree from NLSIU, Bangalore and Master of Arts in Environment & Development from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He never stopped learning and his academic journey is still continuing…..
