I'm a senior in high school that will soon be going to University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to major in English or Philosophy or something. (I'll have a Creative Writing minor, for sure, whatever major I declare.) I live in a woods in the south, where you will find me working on my writing. What do I write? Well, it's hard to say exactly, so I will leave you with the vague category of "literary fiction." My influences are all over the place�John Updike, Stephen King, Douglas Coupland. A few other writers, a few more dead white males include: Goethe, Ovid, Nietzche. Good stuff, I tell you.

I've started writing poetry�experimenting, rather�and have decided to use this site primarily to try out my new stuff. (Yes, I'm one of those people who never dreamed of writing poetry because of the obvious stereotypes: poets are flowery, overly idealistic, romantic, pretentious. That's until I found that such description fitting me perfectly...)
