About Me
Daniel Padilla, artist and poet, was born and raised in Plymouth, Michigan. He traveled to many Universities to broaden and strengthen his artistry. These Universities include Albion College, University of Detroit/Mercy, and Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. He has spent most of his formal education studying the art of writing. He continued his experiences in literature by attending two workshops : Wayne State University Writer Workshop in Detroit during the Fall of 2003 to the Spring of 2004, lead by Rainelle Burton and Mariela Griffor. In the Summer of 2005, he attended the Kenyon Reviews Summer Writers Program at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio . His instructor was Linda Gregerson, a Professor at University of Michigan. Throughout his life, Daniel Padilla has studied visual arts in the museums, galleries and streets of the Americas (North, Central and South) and Western and Southern Europe. For example, the museums and galleries where he contemplated the impact and techniques of the masters are MOMA in NY, Tate Modern in London, and the Dali Muesuem in St. Petersburg, FLA, along with the Met in NY, Louvre in Paris, Ufizzi in Florence, Thyssen in Madrid, and the DIA. Also, he absorbed the cultural influences of the streets of Soho (both NY and London), la Rambla in Barcelona, Westport in Kansas City, Corktown in Detroit, and San Telmo in Buenos Aires.
Daniel Padilla lives and works in his studio in Plymouth, Michigan where he continues to broaden and strengthen his artistic experiences.
