I am a young adult and I like to write lyrics. Oftentimes I never make music for my work however and I only write the text without music, therefore it becomes more of a kind of poetry that has a rhythm to it.

I first began by writing comedy songs without real meaning, but as life happened I eventually found comfort in writing song lyrics to deal with my issues and problems. Often they are about love, family or helplessness and depression. Sometimes however I enjoy making fictional stories and characters and writing texts from their perspectives. I am still getting comfortable in this new method though.

There are no poetry groups where I live (that I have heard of) so I am resorting to the internet for both inspiration but also feedback and connecting with others with similar interests.
