Writing Mentors Forum 12, whos asking
12, whos asking14 Years AgoI wanted to share a story with you guys. I went to see a high school teacher at my school, because my English teacher thought she could help me out with a story. The second I walked in I could see that she doubted that I was the writer of the story/poem that my teacher had sent to her. When I sat down and she was finished looking me over I spoke, "How old are you?"
The teacher looked suprised and managed to sputter out,"Why that hardly matters right now,"
At that I sat back in my chair satisfied and we began to talk. Every time she would say that my age wouldn't allow for enough maturity, I would remind her that she still hadn't told me her age, and the topic would be dropped. By the end of lunch, she was hardly able to form a sentence as she made some excuse as to why she had to leave. So for anyone who is facing a meeting that seems to be taking a turn for the worse because of age, ask them how old they are.
