No one to rear,/No one to reprimand,/No one there /My attention to demand/ No one to hold,/No one to cherish,/No one to pamper,/No one to console./ Not a thing to do,/Nothing to look forward to../Just ambling along /Carrying the burden of life./ Life has become a void/ A journey through loneliness,/Bereft of the gleeful laughter/Of my little girl/ The girl has learnt to fly/And has flown the nest./Flown to a haven/She calls her own./ Her tears /She has learned to wipe./In her joy/ I have scant  space/ She has a life ahead./I cling to memories./The future beckons her,/The past is my solace./ Motherhood has been /A roller-coaster ride./Had its pitfalls,/The icing on the cake too./Could I have savoured/Those special moments/By wishing away the pain?
