Sorting this collage

that is you, that is me

is like trying to untie a Gordian knot.

What do you want of me?

Years ago I secured the door

of my heart with cynicisim

deleted love from my vocabulary

was wary of those pounding furiously.

It was your incessant tapping I heard

that wrought the magic word.

Though I come with bushel basket

to catch those good things of you and I

that overflow at times, we are like

some haphazard rhyme that has yet to be metered.

I really enjoyed reading this piece.  Thank you for sharing it here!  I'm having to adjust to coming to the site instead of just having the email in my inbox but I'll get better about it.
