LAKE OF OZARKS CHAMBER OF COMM..
LAKE OF OZARKS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE INFO18 Years AgoDuring the past 72 years, the Lake of the Ozarks Convention & Visitor Bureau, CVB, has successfully promoted the Lake within a 750 mile radius and increased significantly the number of visitors to the area. We are Missouri Division of Tourism's official designated marketing organization for the Lake of the Ozarks area.
We work on a cooperative level with area chambers, cities, businesses, Tri-County Lodging Association, the Golf Council, and the Department of Tourism. The organization was first called the Lake of the Ozarks Improvement and Protective Association. Over the years, the name was changed to Lake of the Ozarks Association, and shortened by many as, simply, Lake Association. In the early 1980's, the official name was changed to Lake of the Ozarks Convention & Visitor Bureau. The CVB is not a Chamber of Commerce. We do, however, work in conjunction with the area Chambers of Commerce. The Chambers are responsible for promoting local businesses in their communities and providing welcome centers for those who visit the Lake of the Ozarks. The CVB is responsible for the overall promotion of tourism for the entire Lake of the Ozarks. The mission of the CVB is to promote the Lake of the Ozarks as a premiere family, golf, and group meeting destination of the Midwest. This goal is accomplished by the CVB working in partnership with 450 businesses, reaching thousands of households in the following ways: Distribution of promotional literature at 14 boat, sport and travel shows in 10 states. Mailing to over 75,000 households each year in response to persons requesting information through our office. Managing the advertising campaigns for the Lake of the Ozarks Tri-County Lodging Association by running newspaper, radio, and television ads in metropolitan areas within a 750 mile radius of the Lake. Additionally, publishing advertisements in national magazines, such as, Midwest Living and AAA Home & Away.
