Challenge of the Week ~ #28

Hello everyone! I was glad to receive so many responses about the challenges. I have been very busy as of late, but never forgetting about our wonderful and creative group. :)

It's been a long time since we don't do a picture challenge, so here we go :) After looking at this picture, you can choose to write a a poem or a short story. Please limit them to 1000 words or less so that we all can have the chance to read and enjoy them.

You have time to submit them for voting until Friday 10, and we will vote over the weekend to feature the chosen piece and author.

Of course, you can always continue submitting your pieces for whichever challenge that inspires you to write :)

Have fun! ::biggrin::

[code]Hello sweet Valerie, how are you? What a wonderful picture you have chosen! I miss you. Hopefully you won't go. Nihad is somehow not here anymore. So sad.

Have you been writing new songs? I wanna hear.

Yup! Gulls they are.....

White, disease infected, rodents with wings....

But i digress... I'll save it for the tale.

Ok here is my entry. I kind of strayed from the picture but there are mention of seagulls in my story. I hope you all enjoy it!

Grab, gut, guts in bucket fish in box
Grab, gut, guts in bucket fish in box
Grab, gut, guts in bucket fish in box
All the screaming gulls in chorus
Swirling soaring clouds of white
Flinching, twisting, hungry, fighting
To be first to catch a bite
Grab, gut, fill the bucket
Throw the pieces to the gulls
Watch to see if some hit's water
Slowing not they simply dive
It's so great to be alive
Grab, gut, guts in bucket fish in box
Take from box filet and throw
Head and tail in two directions
slide filets into the ice
Another waltz of constant action
Ocean motion feeling nice
rest and watch the frenzied feathers
fighting in the rushing wake
another day of summer weather
Halibut and cod and hake

Here it is, hot off the presses. First of all, let me apologize, it comes in just a hair over 1000 words.

Second, its not fully developed. If there is significant intrest, i will flesh it out a bit more. Sorry for the roughness, but I've been busy busy, Please let me know what you think
