Underground Writers Network Forum Please review a chapter or two

The plot is that of an adventure book but it's meant to be an introspective look at our lack of youthful wild passion. In the spirit of Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer, with maybe a little Hemingway stirred in. That's the goal. I wish someone would tell me if I'm anywhere near the right track. I must say upfront I rarely take criticism without discussion. I make my writing decisions for a reason and will ferociously defend them if not convinced otherwise. I will most likely not agree with most notes but nonetheless I realize their necessity. I want this book to be subtle and nuanced and I hope your reviews, comments, and criticisms will reflect an understanding of that desire. Less is more shall be our watchword.
