Underground Writers Network Forum Challenge of the Week ~ #22

The fish told the lion: "who could be a ferocious beast..." yet the lion digressed: "being a diver is all the best" And from the flood I sent a dove to the morning sun, but what returned was a crow cawing to the moon. Dove and Crow blend in the night like star and black hole, gravity and light. So off they went, the fish and the lion to catch sight of the dove's first flight. With a year of life, being one lap Crow said, "Hell, I'm black as oil on scree." "C'mere," cooed dove, "C'mere and kiss me." "Kiss me into darkness Crow, sketch fresh pathways through my sky." Come to me, my dove lumire, or part and leave me die I cannot kiss you, my dearest crow for my heart belongs to another, your foe. Sadness engulfed the crow's darkness, deep woeful pain radiating from within his chest. That's all very well Fish, your point I can see but I want to be you and you want to be me. Looking upon Lion and Fish, man saw only meat He put skills to the skillet and made himself a treat. Remember the woes of love-lorn animals in a fable are simple, silly trifles compared to food on the table. But while chewing his fare and drinking some wine, thoughts of his own lost loves came to his mind; for, upon his serving hand's forefinger the scars of old wedding rings still linger. What do you all think? |
